The keyword system

Our system of indexing pages by keyword provides a flexible, powerful navigation system for your users to find their way to the pages they want to read.

  • First, you define the keywords you want to use - you can later add more keywords, alter keywords or delete keywords.
  • Then every time you add a page you can define the keywords by which the page will be referenced. Again, you can change these keywords later - adding new ones, or removing them.
  • When you set up your header and menu, you can specify lists of keywords. In the header, these run across the page. In the menu, they may be listed as individual inks, or placed in a drop-down box to save space. When a user selects a keyword, they will be shown a list of all the pages that are referenced by it.
  • Your keywords may optionally be organised into non-exclusive groups, allowing you to select keywords for display in your menu and header according to the group(s) they are allocated to. Individual keywords may also be specified directly.
  • The keyword listings are created dynamically when a keyword is selected, so your new pages are automatically "linked in" without your having to take any further action.
  • Keyword listings can be preceded by the document date, or shown in a choice of styles according to your preference. The listings include live links to each page on its "name", which is embedded within the description you give it.
  • Every time a keyword is selected, it is recorded by a counter - allowing you to monitor the relative popularity of different keywords.
