Search functions

The 2tix website publishing system offers several powerful forms of search to guide your users to the information and pages they are looking for:

  • a search of all your web pages, based on the words in your pages, their titles and their descriptions (based on the MySQL 'full text index' feature). A search term is entered directly into a box in your menu.
  • search by date, in which the user can specify a range of dates. The desired dates are entered directly into boxes in your menu.
  • a keyword search, which provides a listing of pages that match a selected keyword. This kind of search is accessed in your menu, as either a drop down box or a list of keywords, or from a display of keywords in the header. See also our page about the keyword system.
  • A 'full search' which combines all three search types, above. This kind of search is specified in a special purpose 'full search' page - see here.
  • a search of the web page currently being viewed, based on an external Javascript program. Due the variability of JavaScript implementation on different browsers, this function will work differently depending on which browser is being used. It performs best in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. A search term is entered directly into a box in your menu.
